The Activities Therapy departments of Woodridge Hospital, Sycamore Shoals Hospital and Russell County Medical Center announce the Second Annual Mountain States Health Alliance Behavioral Health Art Show.  The theme this year is "Emotional Reflections," and the artwork is composed of items created by patients as part of their treatment.

According to the American Art Therapy Association, "The creative process involved in making art is healing and life enhancing." In the Behavioral Health therapeutic setting, creating art provides clients a means to express their emotions. Through art, individuals can also gain insight and a better understanding of themselves that can facilitate emotional growth and development.

The reception and art show will be held Friday, Nov. 6 from 5-8 p.m. at the Princeton Arts Center, 2516 Oakland Ave., Johnson City. This special exhibit will highlight the unique creations generously donated by Mountain States Health Alliance Behavioral Health clients.  Select items will be offered for sale with the proceeds being divided between the artists and the Activities Therapy departments.

For more information, call Connie Simpson at Woodridge Hospital at 423-431-7097.
